Cancer is the main target of clinical research in Brazil

Of 1,613 clinical studies reported in the country, one third is still recruiting patients

Data from one of the leading banks of clinical studies records in the world, based in the United States, indicate that most of the research in Brazil targets the cancer – with leadership for the breast – diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and studies on HIV and AIDS. Together, they concentrated at least 25% of the work. Of 1,613 clinical trials (in humans) in the country recorded in the database Clinical Trials, maintained by the US government, one-third is still recruiting patients.
